The 20th Dragon Ball anime movie will be out on December 14th, 2018 in Japan and this time...it's Super!

The dbmovie-20th.com website has opened with a new visual of Goku. The movie has a tentative title of Dragon Ball Super, like the TV series. Akira Toriyama will be writing the script and designing characters. The website also features a special message from Toriyama, who mentions that the story will be a continuation of the anime series with details that will give "a better understanding about Freeza and the Saiyans". Toyotaro's Super manga will still be ongoing with differences from the anime and movie.

The "Dragon Ball 20th Movie Commemoration Project" was teased in November 2017, with the theme of "the strongest warrior race in the universe, the Saiyans!"

DBS will be ending its TV run at the end of March with the conclusion of the Universe Survival Saga, after which a new adaptation of Gegege no Kitaro will air in its time slot. There is currently no news about a continuation of the TV series, be that a new season or, if necessary, a continuation of Super. Let's see the Tournament of Power out to the end! We still have the upcoming 20th Dragon Ball anime movie with the origin of the Saiyans to look forward to in December 2018.

While the Japanese broadcast is counting down to its March conclusion, Dragon Ball Super will continue to run on Toonami for the foreseeable future, having just entered the "Future" Trunks Saga as of this writing. Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters is also approaching the climax on Toonami, currently on the Fusion Saga as of this writing.
